Volunteers
Greater Randolph Little League
Volunteers needed!
Volunteers are the lifeblood of Little
League baseball and we are always in need of adults who are
interested in helping with one of the many roles involved in
a successful season. The following summarizes some of the volunteer
roles needed. If you are interested please contact one of the
Greater Randolph LL Board Members to get a volunteer form.
Managers -- GRLL has an
ongoing need for people willing to manage teams. This year
the league will hold a Coaches Clinic in addition to providing
written materials to ensure each manager has the support and
knowledge needed to lead a team. In addition to the coaches
clinic, time commitment typically includes holding at least
one practice session a week during the season in addition
to scheduled games.
Coaches -- each team needs
at least 2 additional coaches to help the manager. Coaches
are especially important at practice sessions to help keep
all players busy and ensure they receive proper instruction.
Umpires -- GRLL is always
seeking volunteers to umpire our games. Umpires must have
a good knowledge of baseball and attend at least one umpire's
clinic before the season starts.
Team Parents -- at least
one parent is needed per team to play the critical role of
team parent. This role involves helping the manager communicate
information to all other parents, and coordinating team events
such as an end-of-season team party.
Field Maintenance -- involves
working on fields before the season starts and between games
to ensure playing fields are in the best condition possible.
Events -- Special events
such as Opening Day and the end-of-season tournament involve
special efforts that may require people to help with concessions
or other things.
Board Membership --
people are needed to organize the league and and keep it strong.
A variety of positions are available. Click on the "Board
Members" link to the left of the page to see current
board members and their roles. Contact anyone listed to express
an interest in helping out in the future.
